Following our acclaimed production of Aida,
Kentish Opera presents some of opera's most gorgeous music. It
features soloists from the Royal Opera House and English National
Opera. The Gala will include staged scenes from some of the best
and most popular operas.
Our line-up of principals includes Ruth Kerr, Kate Symonds-Joy,
David Newman and Mark Saberton and they will sing solos and duets
from Pagliacci, La Boheme, the Magic Flute, Samson and Dalilah,
The Barber of Seville, Madame Butterfly, Tosca and Pearl Fishers.
They will be backed up by the fabulous Kentish Opera Chorus,
who will also be singing:
Carmen: Entrance of the Cigarette girls and the Habanera.
The Magic Flute: Osis and Osiris.
Carmen: Toreador Song.
Nabucco: The Slaves Chorus.
Macbeth: The Witches Chorus.
The Bartered Bride: The Polka with chorus..
Cavalleria Rusticana: The Easter Hymn.
It will be sung in English with the professional
orchestra conducted by Robyn Sevastos. Directed by Sally Langford
with Terry John Bates as Dance Director. It will be fully costumed
with Carol Stevenson as costume designer and lighting by Colin
Martin, this promises to be an exciting and memorable evening.
