The Magic of Kentish Opera Wren Quadrangle in Bromley & Sheppard's Colleges 16th October 2016 Kentish Opera was asked by special invitation from the Wren Quadrangle Trustees to join in the Bromley and Shephard's Colleges festivities to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the foundation of Bromley College in 1666 by the Will of John Warner, Bishop of Rochester. The Magic of Kentish Opera is a collection of magically themed opera excerpts, fully staged and costumed, with professional soloists and the Kentish Opera Chorus. It will be directed by Terry John Bates and conducted by Robyn Sevastos. The programme will include music by Lehár (TheMerry Widow), Mozart (The Magic Flute), Gounod (Romeo and Juliet), Sullivan (Iolanthe), Verdi (The Force of Destiny and Othello), Tchaikovsky (Eugene Onegin) and much more. It will be sung in English with a keyboard accompaniment. The performance will take place in a heated marquee erected in the Wren Quadrangle (circa 1674) which is an almost hidden architectural jewel just a short step from Bromley High Street. The colleges are across the road from Bromley Magistrates Court and ample parking is available in the Hill Car Park near the junction of Beckenham Lane and London Road Box Office
